 Huaxi Park is situated in the suburbs 17 kilometers (11 miles) south of Guiyang. Covering an area of 220 square kilometers (85 square miles), it is a pearl of the Guizhou plateau.
Famous for its scenic beauty, Huaxi Park is abundant in undulating hills, beautiful flowers, crystal clear pools, flower gardens, lakes and pavilions. Perhaps the most beautiful feature is the clear streams winding through hills and the flowers provide beautiful displays throughout the four seasons of the year. The park has a pleasant climate, neither severely cold in winters nor extremely hot in summers, so it is really an ideal tourist destination all year round. Glorified by the poet with the verse:
