Northern Hot Springs Park |
Located at the foot of Mountain Jinyun, and alongside the River Jialing, Northern Hot Springs Park is situated in the Beibei District of Chongqing. 1,500 years ago the site was home to a Buddhist Temple, but was altered greatly during the subsequent Ming and Qing dynasties. The present park is a combination of hot springs, temple buildings, ancient trees, flower gardens, fish and lotus ponds, waterfalls, and limestone caves, and is considered one of the most beautiful tourist sites in Chongqing City.
There are altogether ten hot springs in the park. You can bathe in either the public room or in one of the private rooms. The water has an average temperature of between 35C (95F) and 37C (98.6F) and contains lime, sodium carbonate, sodium sulfate and other minerals, which make it suitable both for bathing and for treating ailments such as Dermatitis, Rheumatism, Arthritis and Muscular Pain.
